“Favo” grew up as an orphan and was passed from home to home for foster care. He was a beautiful child. And in nearly every home – sixty-six places, he said – he was sexually abused. “Because of everything that was done to me,” he confided, “I have felt I have so little value. So, when people would speak bad about me, I believed it. When I heard it again and again, it held me down. I put up a fence to protect myself, but it became like a prison. And inside, those lies would beat me.” But as he realized who God meant for him to be and began to let go of the ways he’d coped to survive, he slowly opened his heart to let God’s truth sink in. “Now I feel freedom and happiness. I want to become the person God planned for me to be.”
